Our Hanoverian breeding goes all back to our foundation broodmare SPS Firnbrot by DLG champion Firnis. Lines go on with SPS Abeduta by Almjäger then SPS Anweisung who was foaled back in 1932. SPS Anweisung represents the most prolific branch of the Hanoverian stem of Colonne.
The lineage can be tracked down to the thoroughbred sire The Colonel who was foaled in 1863. Heinrich - never shy of taking a risk - achieved Firnbrot when she was a raising 16 year old and had been barren for 4 seasons in a row. The mare had done hard work in harness for years and her previous owner had given up on her.
Magically - either owing to plain good luck or change of environment - Firnbrot conceived and produced another row of healthy foals and lived to turn 24 years old before she was humanely euthanized. Heinrich decided to breed the substantial and mare to Perser xx, a full brother to the wider known Pik As xx. Perser xx was one of the most successful sires in his time for both dressage and jumping.
The resulting foal Piroschka was retained and thus became practically the mother to all our success. 1a rated at mareshow, she was a tall mare of great athletism, will to perform and firy, yet sensible temperament. From Piroschka we kept several daughters for our breeding programme including Gadina aka Gazelle by Gardeulan II who sadly deceased in 2007, Ayoscha aka Aline by Archipel, and Hannelore by Hohenstein all of which have scored at least one 1a award at mare shows and are performance tested.
The only mare without 1a rating we are keeping to date is Grace by Gotenkönig. She has produced a successful FEI-level competitor who achieved his first Inter I success at the tender age of 7 already and also was the hightest scoring Baden-Würtemberg participant at the years junior and young rider National Championships at Steinfeld with his owner Hannah Dopf in 2009.
